Muslim child forced to ‘eat chips and watch Love island’ in UK foster home
A Muslim child at the heart of a religious fostering row should be removed from a Christian household who eat nothing but frozen food from Iceland and watch endless reality TV, a family court judge has ordered.
It had been reported that there were concerns over her welfare because she was placed with a foster carer who watches Eastenders and Love Island every night while eating vast quantities of “chips”. The child was also encouraged not to learn any ‘foreign languages’.
A report in the Times, based on confidential internal documents from Tower Hamlets council, also said the child had been found it “difficult to breathe” and was “visibly distressed” after she viewed back-to-back episodes of ‘Ex on the Beach’.
