Half of Twitter users to leave platform if Liverpool win the Premiership
Half of Twitter users are expected to leave the popular social media platform, if Liverpool wins this season’s Premier League title, the Conch News can reveal.
In a survey by Footie Facts, 51.4% of respondents in a nationwide poll indicated they would deactivate their accounts if Liverpool were to win their first league title in 28 years. While it is uncertain whether the Merseyside team will prevail after recent losing to champions Manchester City, it is clear many are already preparing for the worse.
According to football fan Darren Walker, ‘The Reds’ winning the league is a prospect difficult to stomach:
“It will be unbearable if those scouse twats win. It was actually enjoyable when Leicester won, and I could maybe even deal with bloody Spurs, but Liverpool fans banging on about their bloody history on twitter for eternity is too much. If it happens I am deleting twitter and moving to the Outer Hebrides.”
