Three men attacked by cougar in Seattle nightclub

Three men have reportedly been mauled by a cougar in a Seattle nightclub. The incident follows the recent fatal attack on two cyclists in a remote Seattle woods, and sparks fear that America’s Mountain Lion may strike again.

The attack took place at 1.18am at the Zenith nightclub in Seattle and wildlife experts say the men had done all they could to ward off the 47-year old cougar, including moving away from the dancefloor and going out for a smoke.

Extremely rare

Attacks by cougars are extremely rare on humans, but extreme circumstances may cause a cougar to attack explains, Dan Reeve from Cougar Conservation.

“This cougar had drunk 11 Long Island Ice Teas and was desperate to find a mate. The men had no chance.”
